Helen Marguerite Alvarado is a queer writer born in Mexico and based in San Francisco. She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso and a B.A. in Rhetoric and Writing from the University of Texas at Austin. A 2025 Tin House Scholar and reader for Hypertext Magazine, her work has appeared in Psst! Magazine, The Sappho Diaries, CityAlchemist.co, and The Paradox of Peace and Power anthology. She’s a U.S. Army combat medic veteran and former professional dominatrix who enjoys reading and writing transgressive stories.
